چکیده

A comprehensive study of magnetoresistance and Hall effect has been performed for the set single crystals non-magnetic metal LuB12 with Jahn-Teller instability boron cage dynamic charge stripes forming along <110> direction. Anomalous positive contribution to particular direction magnetic field H//[001] is found in highest quality. This arising at T~ 150 K shown increase drastically when approaching disordered ground state below 60 K. The anomaly appear combination peak magnetoresistance. various scenarios allowing topology Fermi surface, anisotropy relaxation time carriers filamentary structure fluctuating are proposed explain features magnetotransport this inhomogeneous distribution electron density. origin SdH oscillations, which observed non-equilibrium phase separation strong carrier scattering, discussed.

Spontaneous symmetry breaking by charge stripes in the high pressure phase of superconducting La1.875Ba0.125CuO4.

In those cases where charge-stripe order has been observed in cuprates, the crystal structure is such that the average rotational symmetry of the CuO2 planes is reduced from fourfold to twofold. As a result, one could argue that the reduced lattice symmetry is essential to the existence of stripe order. We use pressure to restore the average fourfold symmetry in a single crystal of La1.875Ba0.1...

Combination rules, charge symmetry, and Hall effect in cuprates.

The rule relating the observed Hall coefficient to the spin and charge responses of the uniform doped Mott insulator is derived. It is essential to include the contribution of holon and spinon three-current correlations to the effective action of the gauge field. In the vicinity of the Mott insulating point the Hall coefficient is holon dominated and weakly temperature dependent. In the vicinit...

Lattice symmetry breaking in cuprate superconductors: Stripes, nematics, and superconductivity

This article will give an overview on both theoretical and experimental developments concerning states with lattice symmetry breaking in the cuprate high-temperature superconductors. Recent experiments have provided evidence for states with broken rotation as well as translation symmetry, and will be discussed in terms of nematic and stripe physics. Of particular importance here are results obt...

Effect of nonmagnetic impurities on stripes in high-Tc cuprates

We perform the numerically exact diagonalization study of the t-J model with nonmagnetic impurities to clarify the relation between Zn impurities and the stripes. By examining the hole-hole correlation function for a two-hole √ 18× √ 18 cluster with a single impurity, we find that the impurity has a tendency to stabilize vertical charge stripes. This tendency is caused by the gain of the kineti...

Charge independence breaking and charge symmetry breaking in the nucleon–nucleon interaction from effective field theory

We discuss charge symmetry and charge independence breaking in an effective field theory approach for few–nucleon systems. We systematically introduce strong isospin–violating and electromagnetic operators in the theory. The charge dependence observed in the nucleon–nucleon scattering lengths is due to one–pion exchange and one electromagnetic four–nucleon contact term. This gives a parameter f...
